Corner Wines & Wine Bar is scheduled to unveil its wine bar expansion Sept. 1 in Plano, owner Michael Martin said.

The location at 4017 Preston Road, Ste. 535, has been in business since 2006, but Martin took over the operation in 2020 and began the expansion in 2022, which will add a full bar and additional seating for about 50 guests.

Growing up in Italy, Martin said he formed “a love language” with wine and food, so he wanted to provide a space where guests of all experience levels can enjoy a full spectrum of wines from around the world. The store boasts over 400 different wines, including offerings from renowned Tuscan wine producer Tenuta San Guido, including the 2019 Sassicaia, a Bordeaux-style wine with notes of raisin and plum.

All selections will also be available at the bar for those who do not want to purchase a whole bottle, Martin said. The hope is to remove the intimidation of wine and allow customers to come as they are.

“Wine is the juice that keeps us all together,” he said.
