Starting with an upcoming Plano location, Pickleball Kingdom franchise owner Dan Jenkins has plans to expand the Arizona-based company’s footprint across North Texas.

The details

Spotting a major demand for pickleball courts, Jenkins partnered with Pickleball Kingdom in early 2023 to bring five facilities to the Dallas-Fort Worth area. The plan soon increased to 20 courts in the region.

The Plano location at 1301 Custer Road, Ste. 200, will be the first to open, with a grand opening event set for Feb. 29, barring hold ups in the permitting process, Jenkins said.

Other planned locations include a Dallas location planned for this summer, and Keller and Irving locations set to open in late 2024, according to the company’s website.

Jenkins added he is working on deals to bring a facility to Flower Mound, which could open in “late 2025 or 2026.”

Diving in deeper

The Pickleball Kingdom in Plano will bring 16 total indoor courts along with coaching and room for events. The business will also provide leagues and tournaments once multiple facilities are open.

Jenkins said he hopes Pickleball Kingdom can provide a community for players in the area.

“There are pickleball courts that are scattered about, but there's not someone really driving the community,” he said. “We’re going to be the premium indoor experience in a premium facility for a reasonable price to reach the demand."
