My French Recipe is holding an open house from noon-6 p.m. Nov. 5 to celebrate the reopening of its Plano cooking studio.

Founder and owner Isabel Mota said she started out teaching people to make macarons from her house and decided to open a business that offers cooking classes.

“I just love food in general, and since I’m French, I love French food,” she said.

Her Plano studio originally opened in October 2019 but ended up closing its doors after the pandemic began, she said.

Since the studio’s closing, Mota said she has been building up the retail side of her business, which sells baking mixes as well as several brands of food from Europe.

But Mota said she missed the connection with people and the happiness that came from students as they learned a new skill.

“You can actually make them realize they could bake and cook French food, and it doesn’t have to be complicated,” Mota said.

The studio reopened in October in the same location at 3033 W. Parker Road, Ste. 203. The Nov. 5 grand opening includes cooking demonstrations, sips and bites as well as a gourmet boutique with items for purchase. Admission is free. Online signups for the grand opening are encouraged but not required. 469-605-4151. https://myfrenchrecipe.com
