Plano Arts Week, an annual celebration of the city's arts community, will take place April 10-16.
Activities will include dance, music and theater performances as well as art exhibits, organizers stated in an announcement.
A listing of activities and links to purchase tickets will be available online.
The listing will also include free events in parks and other public places. Participants are invited to plan their own arts activities.
Anyone who spots art in Plano may also share an image or video on social media with the hashtag #PlanoArtsWeek2023.
One of the activities will feature a demonstration by the teen ballet pointe class from Gotta Dance, the official school of the Plano Metropolitan Ballet. Demonstrations will take place April 10 and April 11 from 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m. at 3131 Custer Road. The class will feature a 45-minute barre and center/combination work for an additional 45 minutes.
Another event will be a series of watercolor workshops with Wild Rose Watercolor Studio inside Lyla’s in downtown Plano.
The workshops will feature watercolor kits, mini floral tutorials, and “mommy and me” mini workshops.
Several watercolor kits with a variety of supplies and prices will be available for purchase. Each kit contains a workbook or instructions for easy projects that you can take home and complete. You can also create a simple floral watercolor art during a Five Minute Floral Tutorials program for $5 each from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
Attendees may also stop by for a visit inside of Lyla’s.
Additional details about the watercolors program is available online.
