Bob Kehr, Christene "Chris" Krupa Downs, Steve Lavine and Vidal Quintanilla have won seats on Plano City Council.

What you need to know

In the Place 2 race, Kehr received 10,748 votes, or 55.68%, while Douglas Reeves and Carson K. Underwood received 23.37% and 20.95% of the vote, respectively.

"I feel just very grateful," Kehr said. "This is my first time to run for office, and now I understand that this is really a team sport—I'm grateful for all of the people who have supported me. I'm more committed than ever to make sure the city continues to be a place that we all want to live, work and play."


Downs garnered 54.96% of the vote in the Place 4 race, beating Cody Weaver.

"I appreciate the support, it's a little surreal," Downs said. "I appreciate the community embracing the notion of being kind."

In the Place 5 race Lavine received 10,922 votes, 57.7%, while Gary Cary received 8,007 votes.

"[I'm] very happy, not just for myself but for all of [the winners]," Lavine said. "We're all looking forward to serving the community across council and school board."


Quintanilla won the Place 8 race, garnering 10,177 votes to Hayden Padgett's 8,705.

  • Kehr has 9,617 votes in the Place 2 race, leading Carson K. Underwood's 3,925 and Douglas Reeves 4,250 votes
  • Downs has received 53.58%, while Cody Weaver has received 46.42% of the votes in the Place 4 election

  • Kehr leads Carson K. Underwood and Douglas Reeves in the Place 2 election with 53.62% of the votes.
  • Downs leads Cody Weaver in the Place 4 race with 52.26% of the vote.
  • Lavine currently has 7,075 votes, or 54.78%, and is leading the Place 5 vote over Gary Cary.
  • Quintanilla has garnered 6,468 votes, or 50.25%, and leads Hayden Padgett in the Place 8 race.
Place 2, 4 and 8 incumbents Kayci Prince, Anthony Ricciardelli and Rick Smith have reached their term limit, and were unable to run for reelection. Place 5 incumbent Shelby Williams resigned from council in March with intentions to run for a seat on Collin County Commissioners Court.
