Ahead of the Independence Day holiday, Plano facilities have announced special hours, according to a news release.

Because of the holiday, regular trash and recycling services will not take place July 4 and will instead be collected July 5. All other trash and recycling services will take place as regularly scheduled.

The overview

Per the posted holiday hours, Pecan Hollow Golf Course will be open July 4. Several other facilities will be closed, including:
  • Plano Animal Shelter
  • Day Labor Center
  • Household Chemical Reuse Center
  • Interurban Railway Museum
  • The Nature and Retreat Center at Oak Point Park
  • Plano Municipal Center offices
  • All five Plano library locations: Davis, Haggard, Harrington, Parr and Schimelpfenig
  • Sam Johnson Recreation Center for Adults 50+
  • Texas Pure Products Regional Composting Site and Custer Road facility
According to the posted hours, other facilities are planned to be open July 4, including:
  • Carpenter Park, Liberty, Oak Point and Tom Muehlenbeck recreation centers from 1-6 p.m.
  • High Point Tennis Center from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Jack Carter Pool from 1-6 p.m.
  • Plano Aquatic Center from 1-6 p.m.
