Record rainfall amounts in the area have caused the closing of several parks due to flooding.
Highland Village
Edgewater Drive is closed due to rising lake levels, which have caused the city to close all access to Sunset Point Park and the Lewisville Lake vicinity.
Highland Village police are monitoring the area for safety. The Pilot Knoll Park boat ramp, day-use area and several campsites are closed. The Copperas Branch Park boat ramp is also closed.
Flower Mound
The boat dock and day-use area (pavilion/kayak launch) at Twin Coves Park are closed due to rising lake levels.
Lewisville
Tower Bay's boat ramp, trailer parking lots and vehicle parking lot are closed. The Copperas Branch Trail has a section that is flooded, and the trailhead has been closed.
The day area of Lake Park is closed, which includes public boat ramps 1 and 2. The fishing barge is open, and visitors have to access the barge by using Turtle Trail and Sandy Beach Road.
