i9 Sports, a youth sports league franchise, will soon offer sports leagues, camps and clinics in Frisco. The Frisco franchise is set to open Sept. 18 with soccer, flag football, t-ball and basketball leagues. Franchise owner Isaiah Rojas was the program director for i9 Sports in Honolulu for 2 and 1/2 years. He and his family are moving to Frisco to open the franchise here. i9 Sports i9 Sports will open a franchise in Frisco this fall.[/caption] Rojas said he picked Frisco because of the regional demographics and because of the recognition the city and school district have received. "Just looking at the city's website, you just see all the accolades coming in for grade schools, great business location, great place to start a family," he said. "All of those things just tied into it, and in the process the doors just opened up for that location for me to move there." i9 Sports leagues meet at various sports venues within their area. Practices and games are on the same day to make it easier on parents' schedules, Rojas said. Children do not have to tryout to be on a team. Rojas said he is not looking to replace any sports in Frisco. Rather, he said he wants to provide an opportunity for children who are trying sports for the first time and for parents with busy schedules. "What we're looking to bring to the table is just a recreational league that's based on our core principles, which is fun, safety, convenience for the parents and character driven," Rojas said. "We emphasize a lot on sportsmanship and making sure everyone gets equal playing time."
