Lake Forest Drive
The city of McKinney began construction in October to widen Lake Forest Drive from four lanes to six lanes from SH 121 to McKinney Ranch Parkway. According to a traffic study conducted by the city in 2013, this portion of the roadway is traveled by about 20,000 to 30,000 vehicles per day. The additional lanes will address traffic congestion in this area. The estimated completion date has not been released.

US 75 widening project
TxDOT is nearing completion of the US 75 widening project. The project, which began in 2012, is already seeing major lane openings from just north of Virginia Parkway to SH 121. Crews are working to complete construction of on- and off-ramps, striping along the roadway and smaller improvements. Drivers should expect lane closures and are advised to pay close attention to roadside signage.
