Toy store returns to its online sales roots

After about five years with a physical location, The Cute Little Shop has returned to its roots as a strictly online store.

Owner Dorine Ad said the change comes after the overhead for maintaining the store on Main Street, which closed Jan. 11, became too much.

Ad is exploring different locations for a possible new storefront. Until then, the website, www.thecutelittleshop.com, will remain in operation.

The website will offer all the same products sold in the store and then some, and customer service will remain the same, Ad said.

"We are a small family business," she said. "We have that mentality of old-fashioned customer service. So, if they need us, they will find us."

The Cute Little Shop launched the website in 2007, offering children's toys and games. The store on Main Street opened in 2010.

Ad said she hopes the community will still support her business online as it would in a store.

"[Our customers have] known us for five years," she said. "They lived with us. We grew with them, with their kids, and we would love to maintain this relationship."

Note: The physical location closed Jan. 11.
