Chef plans to make Colleyville spot a destination

Chef Sage Sakiri had a busy year in 2013.

In March, he opened Tribeca Americana Bistro and Lounge in The Village at Colleyville. In April, he prepared and served food at the dedication of the President George W. Bush Library in Dallas.

This is the year to make the restaurant a destination, Sakiri said.

"I want everybody to know they don't have to go to Dallas or Fort Worth to enjoy fine dining," he said.

Sakiri operated Red Sage and Caf Panache restaurants in Tarrant County before running a Balkan bistro in Manhattan.

He said Tribeca Americana's location—nestled in The Village at Colleyville, off the beaten path—means the food and atmosphere have to create a buzz to attract diners.

"If you have to go to City Hall, make sure you stop in," Sakiri said. "We are right on your way there."

The menu emphasizes fresh American comfort food with international influences.

For lunch, there's a pork belly BLT, $6. A popular dinner entre is miso poached Atlantic salmon with fennel orange sauce, $18.

Food on the late-night lounge menu is under $7, including bacon-wrapped shrimp and aged ground-beef sliders with jalapeo mayo.
