An informational meeting is tonight to learn about a weeklong trip to China planned by the Grapevine and Northwest Metroport Chambers of Commerce.

The trip begins Oct. 5 with a flight from Los Angeles to Beijing. Participants will spend three days in China's capita touring palaces, riding rickshaws and visiting pearl and jade factories, among many other activities. Then they'll fly to Shanghai/Suzhou to visit gardens and a silk factory. After riding a bus to Hangzhou and spending a night there, they return for more sightseeing in Shanghai and then catch a flight back to L.A. from there on Oct. 13.

The $2,199 cost includes round trip airfare, hotels, three meals a day, bus tours, airport taxes, transportation between cities, English-speaking tour guides and entrance fees for attractions.

A $300 non-refundable deposit is due June 21, with the $1,899 balance due Aug. 1.
