Jeff Fegan announced today he will retire as CEO of DFW International Airport after 28 years, 19 of them at the helm.

Fegan made the announcement to the airport board of directors today, according to a release. He will leave on Sept. 1 or when a successor is appointed.

"The strategy is in place, the course set, and momentum is strong to achieve results which will carry DFW Airport into the future," Fegan says in the release.

During Fegan's tenure airport revenues grew form $217 million annually to $650 million a year.

Robert Hsueh, chairman of the airport board, will appoint a "CEO Search Working Group to identify the process for finding a successor," says the release.
