Face transplant recipient Dallas Wiens, along with his fiancee and guide dog paid a visit to Southlake Tuesday night to thank the Lions Club for its help.
The Southlake Lions raised $15,600 for costs associated with the dog, Charley.
Southlake Mayor John Terrell recognized the Lions Club and presented the $15,600 donation check to Leader Dogs for the Blind.
Wiens, who met Nash at Parkland Hospital about a year ago, has undergone more than 20 surgeries since his face was burned away in a construction accident in November 2008.
The Fort Worth man's surgery was the first full face transplant in the U.S.
Nash said the couple plans to be married on March 30.
