The American Society for Public Administration, North Texas chapter named Westlake Town Manager Thomas E. Brymer the Public Administrator of the Year. Chapter President and former Dallas City Manager Ted Benavides presented Brymer with the award in late February at the University of North Texas.

"This is truly an honor," Brymer said in a statement. "I am grateful to the many individuals who have inspired and guided me over the years. It has been a true privilege to work with so many dedicated professionals and to be recognized by them in this way."

Since 2008, Brymer has been Westlake's town manager and Westlake Academy's superintendent. He previously worked as city manager in Gilmer, Lockhart and College Station, and as assistant city manager in Olathe, Kan. He is a graduate of UNT's Master of Public Administration program.
