ASK THE EDITOR: Where can I find what’s on the ballot?


Hello, McKinney readers! It’s time to introduce myself as the new McKinney editor for Community Impact Newspaper. I’ve been serving as the editor of Community Impact Newspaper in Grapevine, Colleyville and Southlake for the last two years, and I am delighted to now be the editor of our sister paper.

Something that affects all of us here is elections. We have one coming up Nov. 5 that will include 10 proposed amendments to the state’s Constitution. The Texas Secretary of State Office has prepared a breakdown of how the ballot language will read and what each proposition means. The breakdown can be viewed at

I am thrilled to get to report on the city’s growth and changes. Former editor Cassidy Ritter and reporter Emily Davis have introduced me to so many leaders in McKinney, and it is obvious this city is teeming with stories. I hope to provide some insight to help our readers be informed about where they live.
