The concrete panel replacement project on Eldorado and Virginia Parkway in McKinney is slated to kick off the week of June 23, according to a city news release.

Construction crews will start replacing damaged panels on Eldorado parkway in June. Construction on that road is expected to last until December. Crews will move on to Virginia Parkway in January 2026. The entire project is expected to take 12-18 months to complete, weather permitting, according to McKinney’s website.

The project will replace damaged concrete panels and restripe the roadway to improve the driving surface. Council members approved up to $9.2 million in April for the construction work.



The details


Work will be completed in 1-mile segments along the roads. Lane closures are expected but one lane will remain open in each direction at all times, according to the news release. Access to homes and businesses will also be maintained and trash and recycling services will not be disrupted.

According to McKinney’s website, work will be completed on the following segments in order:

Eldorado Parkway
  • Ridge Road to Lake Forest Drive
  • Lake Forest Drive to Hardin Boulevard
  • Hardin Boulevard to Country Club Drive
  • Country Club Drive to US 75
Virginia Parkway
  • Stonebridge Drive to Ridge Road
  • Ridge Road to Lake Forest Drive
  • Lake Forest Drive to Hardin Boulevard
  • Hardin Boulevard to Jordan Road
  • Jordan Road to US 75
