Editor's note: This story has been updated after a notice was received from the Texas Department of Transportation that the planned time of closure has been changed.

A portion of US 75 in Allen is scheduled to close overnight April 17 for work on an ongoing bridge replacement project.

​​What’s happening?

All southbound lanes on US 75 are slated to close from 9 p.m. April 17 to 5 a.m. April 18 at Ridgeview Drive. Traffic will be detoured onto the frontage road, according to a traffic advisory notice from the Texas Department of Transportation.



The ramp leading from eastbound SH 121 to southbound US 75 will also be closed. In addition, the ramp from westbound Spur 399 to southbound US 75 will be closed, according to the notice.

The background

Crews from Indus Construction are completing bridge work at US 75’s intersection with Ridgeview Drive during the closure. The work is part of a $45.9 million bridge replacement project, according to the traffic advisory.

TxDOT awarded the contract to Indus Construction in 2022. Construction is slated to finish by this summer.
