Volunteer McKinney, a nonprofit organization, surpassed 25 years of service in April.

Volunteer McKinney works to connect nonprofit organizations in Collin County with individuals interested in volunteering. It is one of nine volunteer centers in the state, according to a news release from the organization.

Volunteer McKinney has registered 14,000 volunteers and served 275 nonprofit organizations over 25 years, the release stated. The organization also hosts Make a Difference Day, a day of volunteer service that will be held on October 26 this year.

The organization’s anniversary was celebrated during the Spirit of Volunteerism Awards ceremony on April 11. The awards are given to individuals who contribute to the community through volunteerism.

"This event serves not only to honor [the winners’] dedication, passion and achievements but also to inspire others to join in and make a difference,” Volunteer McKinney Executive Director Allison Monroe said in the release.
