The
McKinney Rotary Club is celebrating its 100th year of service in the city.
The Rotary Club was chartered in April 1919, but Rotary clubs follow fiscal years, which are from July 1-June 30.
“We are so fortunate to have a Rotary Club that is active and engaged in our community,” Lisa Hermes, president of the McKinney Chamber of Commerce, said in a news release from the Rotary Club. “As they celebrate their centennial anniversary, it’s really a celebration of the dedicated men and women who roll up their sleeves and serve not only our community but people and places around the world.”
The McKinney Rotary Club participates in a variety of events, projects and fundraisers, including the All Abilities Park at Bonnie Wenk Park, McKinney High School Interact Club, McKinney Youth Leadership Program, Flag Lease Program, Rotary Model UN, annual Christmas Parade of Lights and more.
The McKinney Rotary Club has 62 members and meets every Friday at noon at Rick's Chophouse, 107 N. Kentucky St., McKinney.
