Gabriel Pineda said his philosophy at The One and Only Burger is to keep it simple. With a menu that sticks to the basics, he said he is able to focus on the flavor of the home-cooked burgers and fries.
“Keeping it simple allows us to focus and refine the tastes and flavors,” Pineda said. “Keeping it simple ensures that everything is always fresh. We do not add to the menu too often. We want to stick to the homegrown, classic menu.”
The most popular menu item at The One and Only Burger is the cheeseburger.
“They are our No. 1-selling burger,” Pineda said. “Most people make them a double. With a choice of any toppings, they are one of the best deals on the menu, too.”
Pineda, who has been in the food industry for 30 years, said opening his own restaurant was his ultimate goal.

My dream was always to own my own place. This is my dream come true. The best part about operating a restaurant [is] the connections I build every day with customers when creating the best experience for them. We love how the McKinney community really embraces small businesses.”
Pineda said he draws from his years of experience and passion for creating a great burger experience to fine-tune the menu selections at The One and Only.
On average, The One and Only sells about 300 burgers a day and 2,000 pounds of potatoes a week, Pineda said.
