Long-range master plan update
In June, the Collin College board of trustees approved an update to its new long-range master plan. Collin College will have five priorities from 2016-21.

New campus in Wylie
In June, trustees announced plans to build a new campus in Wylie on 44 acres donated by the city of Wylie. The new campus will be located adjacent to Wylie City Hall on Country Club Road.

Intent to call a bond election
In September trustees said they intend to call a bond election in May. The earliest trustees could call for a bond election is February.

Campus carry law takes effect
Concealed carrying of handguns on four-year college campuses begins Aug. 1. Collin College Police Chief Bill Taylor said he will examine other college policies before crafting his own.
