Tucker Hill is known for its home design which features classic southern architecture with large porches, columns and what the neighborhood calls a “front porch lifestyle.” This week, however, the neighborhood has donned red, white and blue for a patriotic contest that welcomes visitors into Tucker Hill.

The neighborhood's “Patriotic Porches on Parade” contest highlights front porches, landscaping and home exteriors with patriotic decor. Online voting has already started on Tucker Hill's Facebook page and will continue through July 3.

Those interested can click to view the photo album, which features all of the homes participating in the contest, and simply click the "like" button to vote. However, Tucker Hill encourages visitors to drive through the neighborhood to see the homes in person.

“It’s like a living Pinterest Board!” said Vicki Northcutt, Tucker Hill spokesperson. “Photos can't capture all details and angles, as many of these homes have decorated much more than can be seen in just one shot.”

Tucker Hill is a 300-acre traditional neighborhood development with a focus on architecture, horticulture and a “front porch” lifestyle. Amenities currently include a resort-style pool, playgrounds, mature trees, open space, and a community garden with future plans for a resident’s club, hike and bike trail and a village marketplace. Located just north of US 380 between Ridge and Custer roads, the community features two model homes which are open daily.
