A fire broke out in an alley courtyard in downtown McKinney the morning of Aug. 15, according to a McKinney Fire Department news release. The fire department responded to the blaze and extinguished it, the release stated.
The flames, however, charred the outside walls and caused some interior damage at Rye, which is located at 111 W. Virginia St. The restaurant was not open Aug. 15, the release stated.
“We will very much be back, but we are not sure what that timeline looks like at the moment,” the restaurant’s phone message stated.
The message directed people to check back on Rye’s website and social media for updates.
