Owners of The Mill requested a specific use permit from McKinney Planning and Zoning commissioners at their July 13 meeting to create an event space between the two buildings at the McKinney Flour Mill, located at 501 E. Louisiana St. and 601 E. Louisiana St.
“There has been an increased demand for outdoor spaces for post-pandemic events at our property,” meeting documents provided to commissioners stated.
The hours of operation for the outdoor venue would be during the daytime and evening, and events would be cut off by 10 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays and 11:30 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, documents stated.
The request was given a favorable recommendation from commissioners and will move forward to be considered by the McKinney City Council Aug. 3.
