A merger between EnginSoft USA and MotionPort, providers of computer-aided engineering solutions, was announced June 2. The merger creates a nationwide computer-aided engineering service and software provider, according to the announcement.

"We are thrilled to join forces with MotionPort," said Chris Wilkes, the CEO of EnginSoft USA, which is based in McKinney, in a news release. "MotionPort has been on the leading edge of multibody dynamics and [computational fluid dynamics] research and application as seen by an extensive list of customers, commercial consulting engagements, and multiple government-funded research projects with NASA and the U.S. Army. As a combined company, we expect to increase both the commercial and research parts of the business."

EnginSoft USA will remain headquartered in McKinney but will have new offices in Utah and Detroit, Wilkes said. It is located at 6675 Mediterranean Dr. Ste. 203, McKinney.
