A townhome development named Hidden Villas is planned for south McKinney.
The plans propose the development to have 108 two- and three-bedroom townhomes on about 11 acres, according to the site plan. The development is located at the southeast corner of the intersection of El Lago Drive and Bush Drive, adjacent to both Eldorado Parkway and US 75 in south McKinney. The townhomes would be for sale, rather than for rent, according to Shawn Graham of Quiddity Engineering, the engineering firm for the project.
At their Dec. 13 meeting, McKinney Planning and Zoning Commission members received a presentation about the planned development. The commissioners unanimously approved a requested variance for a screening requirement on the northwest side of the property with an added requirement for enhanced landscaping. The added requirement was proposed by Commissioner Scott Woodruff after a concern of excessive car headlights pointing into nearby homes from a resident of a neighboring community.
