McKinney City Council appoints citizens each year to 21 boards and commissions that deal in a variety of subjects including historical preservation, building standards and affordable housing. Deputy City Secretary Tenitrus Parchman broke down the appointment process for council members during an April work session.
Community members interested in applying for a board or commission are encouraged to attend public meetings and should be familiar with the general purpose and procedures of their boards of interest. Applications are due June 20 and can be filled out via McKinney’s website.
