A new park was recently completed in the Robinson Ridge neighborhood in north McKinney.

Robinson Ridge Park features climbing walls with slides, boulders and a natural ridgeline, according to a post on the McKinney Parks and Recreation department’s Facebook page.

Other amenities at the park include:
  • A playground with swings
  • A basketball court
  • A pickleball court
  • Exercise stations
  • Picnic shelters
  • A hike and bike trail
  • A splash pad
The park design was inspired by requests directed to parks and recreation staff to incorporate climbing and bouldering features in McKinney parks. McKinney Parks Planner April Butler said the Robinson Ridge area was an “ideal location” to incorporate those elements due to the existing grading on the property.

“We are excited about the opportunity to offer our residents a new and unique play experience that includes many requested features,” Butler said in an email.
