McKinney to host 9/11 remembrance event


Sunday marks the 15th anniversary of the Sept. 11 attacks.

A special public event honoring those who gave their lives during the terror attack events of Sept. 11, 2001, will take place at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 11 at McKinney Boyd High School, 600 N. Lake Forest Drive, McKinney.

Gates open to the public at 5 p.m. for the reading of the names of those who perished. The guest speaker will be former Lewisville Fire Chief Rick Lasky.

“A Day of Remembrance” is presented by the McKinney Chamber of Commerce Leadership McKinney program, in partnership with city of McKinney fire and police departments, the Collin County Sheriff’s Office and 97.5 KLAK-FM.
