Jan. 14-15: ComedySportz at The Comedy Arena

ComedySportz is a short-form, improvisational comedy show in which two teams compete in a variety of games and scenarios. The audience uses glow-in-the-dark vote sticks to dish out points to the teams. The style likens itself to the TV show “Whose Line Is It Anyway,” and the show is appropriate for all ages. 7:30-8:30 p.m. (Jan. 14), 7-8 p.m. (Jan. 15). $12.50 (child), $17.07 (general admission). Jan. 15: Mosaics and glass Wworkshop

Learn how to create mosaic art in this workshop by Jump Into Art Studios. Participants will learn how to cut and trim tile, mosaics and glass and paste the pieces onto a wooden layer to create their final piece. Participants are encouraged to bring their own meaningful ceramics to incorporate into their project. 10 a.m.-4 p.m. $125. Jump Into Art, 404 N. Church St., McKinney. Jan. 15: The Stand Up Showdown at The Comedy Arena

The Stand-Up Showdown is a stand-up comedy show hosted by The Comedy Arena which will feature five comics who will have three minutes to deliver material to the audience, who will judge whether they move to the next round. The comic who makes it to the end wins The Stand Up Showdown and is given a cash prize. 10:30-11:30 p.m. $17.07. The Comedy Arena, 305 E.
