This year marks 20 years since the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the United States. Frisco and McKinney have events planned to honor those who died or lost loved ones that day.

Sept. 10-12 | Patriot Day

The McKinney Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership McKinney Alumni Network will host a three-day event called “Patriot Day-A Timeline of Remembrance.”

Beginning Sept. 10, community members can take a self-guided tour through Dr. Glenn Mitchell Memorial Park that contains a timeline of 9/11 events. The tour will also be available on Facebook Live. The timeline will be available through Sept. 12.

On Sept. 11 at 9 a.m., a remembrance ceremony will take place in Mitchell Park with a wreath-laying ceremony and remarks from Mayor George Fuller, a 9/11 first responder and others. Attendance is free. 300 W. Louisiana St., McKinney. 972-542-0163. www.mckinneychamber.com
