The decision to treat this area comes after local mosquitoes tested positive for the West Nile virus, according to a city news release.
The spray area is generally west of Penny Lane, south of Estates Way and north of Maidstone Way. City staff will post signs at major intersections to notify residents of spraying activity. Information and a map of the spray area are available on the city’s website.
Those in the spray area should stay indoors during the spray period and keep their pets inside that evening, according to the release.
Residents who do not want spray near their home should contact the city of McKinney Health Compliance Department at 972-547-7447 by 4 p.m. on Aug. 12.
