One candidate is running unopposed for a seat on the McKinney City Council while the race for McKinney’s next mayor will feature four candidates, according to the city’s website.

The election for the council representative for District 3 will also feature two candidates, while five candidates filed for the race for the At Large 1 seat.

The filing period to apply for City Council candidacy closed at 5 p.m. Feb. 14. Council seats for McKinney’s mayor, as well as District 1, District 3 and At Large 1, are up for election in May.
