Incumbent Republican State Rep. Jeff Leach continues to lead Democrat Makala L. Washington in the race for Texas state representative District 67.

Based on unofficial voting totals, Leach has received 50,545 votes, 60.83%, compared to Washington’s 32,548 votes, 39.17%.

Collin County has released early voting totals for the race for District 67 on the Texas House of Representatives.

According to unofficial early voting results, Leach leads the race with 47,983 votes, or 60.86% of all early votes cast. Washington received 30,863 votes, or 39.14%, during early voting.

Leach is seeking his seventh term as a state representative.

In early voting, there were 439,684 ballots cast countywide, which represents 58.48% of Collin County's 751,832 registered voters.

Totals from ballots cast Nov. 5 have yet to be released. Polls closed at 7 p.m., although voters who were in line at 7 p.m. were still able to cast ballots.
