Former McKinney City Council member Frederick Frazier has secured the Republican nomination for the Texas State Representative District 61 seat. He will run in the general election for Texas House of Representatives District 61 against the democratic candidate Sheena King.

Frazier gained more votes than candidate Paul Chabot during the May 24 primary runoff elections. Primary elections occurred March 1, but several races had the top two vote-getters proceed to a runoff election.

With all Collin County precincts reporting, Frazier pulled in 6,424 votes, or 63.90%, while Chabot gained 3,629 votes, or 36.10%.

According to unofficial results, Matt Carpenter won the runoff for the Republican nomination for Collin County Constable, Precinct 1 with 4,799 votes, or 65.84% to Cris Trevino’s 2,490 votes, or 34.16%.


In the runoff race for the Republican nomination for Collin County Court at Law No. 5, Randy Johnson won with 21,777 votes, or 59.29%, compared to Jimmy Angelino’s 14,955 votes, or 40.71%.


Unofficial results also show Mike Gould won the runoff for the Republican nomination for Collin County District Clerk with 19,791 votes, or 54.24%, to Lynne Finley’s 16,698 votes, or 45.76%.


In the runoff race for Collin County Democratic Party Chair, Caroline Werner won against incumbent Mike Rawlins with 8,320 votes, or 55.53%. Rawlins had 6,662 votes, or 44.47%.
