Collin College partnership with Texas State University, UT Dallas to offer path to 4-year degrees

Collin College is partnering with Texas State University and the University of Texas at Dallas to create the Collin College Academic Alliance, a new higher education opportunity. The program allows students to earn an associate degree and then continue to take courses at Collin College that will earn them a bachelor’s degree from either UT Dallas or Texas State University.

Collin College expands continuing education offerings with medical massage, welding programs

The programs include a medical massage therapy course, welding courses taught in Spanish and an online product management course. The new programs aim to offer career advancement and personal growth.




Collin College grant award to expand robotic welding certification opportunities

A grant from the National Science Foundation will allow Collin College to develop a robotic welding curriculum. The three-year, $446,852 Advanced Technological Education grant will also fund specialized faculty training and equipment purchases. Objectives of the grant include providing students with the opportunity to attain certifications and aligning curriculum with industry needs.

Collin College to expand health care workforce training with $2M grant

A $2M grant will allow Collin College to expand its Plano campus to construct health care instruction facilities, according to a news release. The grant, which will fund building infrastructure improvements, was awarded by the U.S. Department of Commerce Economic Development Administration.




Collin College sees $2.1M investment in adult education, literacy programs

A grant from the Texas Workforce Commission will support the expansion of adult education and literacy programs at Collin College. The grant will provide $2.1 million annually for the next two years, and will contribute funding towards free services for adults in Collin and Rockwall counties. Funding from the grant will be used for programs in five areas, including literacy education; workforce preparation and training; English as a second language preparation and civics instruction; high school equivalency preparation; and career advancements services.
