Here’s everything to know about the projects, according to district documents.
Evans Middle School
The school opened in 2004 and had $21 million in bond funds earmarked for a refresh. Materials for the first phase of the refresh will be ordered and delivered before the end of the school year, and refresh work will start on the last day of the 2023-24 school year, according to the agenda.
The estimated subtotal to date for the project is $7.62 million and includes funds for:
- Ceiling replacements
- Fire alarm upgrades
- Heating, ventilation and air conditioning
- Restriping in the parking lot
- Window blinds
Finch Elementary School
The school opened in 1938 and last underwent renovations in 2003, per the agenda. The 2021 bond set aside $8 million in funds for the campus’s refresh. Materials will be purchased before the end of the school year, and work will begin the last day of school.
The subtotal to date is $3.73 million and includes:
- Interior floor finishes
- New plumbing fixtures
- Paint
- Security system upgrades
- Whiteboards

New playground equipment will be installed at Bennett and Malvern elementary schools as the district expanded its preschool program to the two campuses.
The cost for the playground equipment is $115,834 at Bennett Elementary and $108,284 at Malvern Elementary. Project costs include the playground equipment, new chain link fencing and irrigation system relocation.
Bennett Elementary’s cost is higher as a sidewalk will need to be removed and replaced for the playground, per the agenda.
