What parents should know
The district’s campuses are closed for winter break starting Dec. 22. Students return to school Jan. 9 before having another school closure Jan. 15 on Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Students can expect another long weekend in February with school closed Feb. 16 and staff development scheduled for Feb. 19. Spring break will span from March 11-18 for students.
The 2023-24 school year will end May 23, while graduation for all three high schools is planned for May 24.

The MISD board of trustees approved the 2024-25 academic calendar Nov. 13. The school year begins Aug. 8, 2024, with the last day of school May 22, 2025. The complete calendar can be found here.
