McKinney ISD has been approved to provide free meals to all children age 18 and under, according to a MISD news release. This includes children who are not yet school age or enrolled in another public, private, charter or home school.

The district will distribute three days’ worth of breakfasts and lunches on Mondays, and four days’ worth of meals will be distributed on Thursdays. One breakfast and one lunch will be given per day per child, the news release stated.

Meals will be handed out curbside in a grab-and-go situation. Meals will be available Mondays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. starting May 24 and will run through July 1 at Finch Elementary, located at 1205 S. Tennessee St., McKinney.

May 31 will be the only exception because the curbside meals location will be closed due to observance of Memorial Day, the release stated. Instead, meals for the whole week will be distributed May 27.

To pick up the meals, people only need to drive up to the curb and call the number on the board, and meals will be brought to the car.
