“There’s a lot of groups that come in and play golf, then eat here. They realize it's not your typical snack shop like at other golf courses,” Wilks said. “Then they bring in their families and so on.”
Wilks said the current Boom customer base is equally split between golfers and non-golfers. He would like to see that ratio shift to a higher number of non-golfers.
On the menu
Boom manager Kaya Villalpando said the top three selling menu items are the customizable hamburger, Boom Boom shrimp and pizza.
“We have a great variety of items from handhelds to prime cuts of steak [including] ribeyes and filets—we have wine pairings to go with those as well,” Villalpando said. “We also fly in ice cream from across the country, so we have the best desert in the area.”
Wilks said they source the meat for the burgers and steaks from Linz Heritage Ranch in Oklahoma.

Boom has 16 different beers on tap including a selection of local beers and national beers. Villalpando leads the beverage program and has created six signature cocktails, with the old fashioned being the crowd favorite.
Food and drink services are also available at the driving range.
“We have very refreshing options right now for the summer,” Villalpando said. “They are great [to drink] while catching the sunset at the golf course.”
Going forward
WestRidge Golf Course is one of multiple golf courses owned by Golf Guys, LLC. Although the other golf courses, which are located around the nation, have restaurants, the plan is to rebrand them as Boom in the future. Boom WestRidge is the company’s flagship restaurant.
“All of the new golf courses we buy—their restaurants will be branded ‘Boom’,” Wilks said. “Our website is Boom Westridge. The next website will be Boom Glennloch Farms down in Houston. We just bought that one.”
