The shop offers rolled ice cream in both signature and Indian-inspired flavors as well as a variety of toppings. The shop also offers faloodas, a popular Indian dessert, Singh said. Other items on the menu include bubble tea, fresh fruit tea, lemonade, crepes and macarons.
Many of the recipes the shop uses originate from Singh’s grandfather, who owned a dessert and sweets shop in India, he said.
The McKinney shop filled a storefront formerly home to Bruster’s Real Ice Cream. McKinney is the first location in Dallas-Fort Worth for the business, which has seven locations in Arizona.
Singh said he chose to expand to North Texas due to the growth in the area. Singh said additional Maya Creamery locations are planned for:
- Dallas
- Frisco
- Irving
- Plano
- Prosper
“We want our families to come in with their kids [and] have a good time here,” he said.
