The business, to be located at 1600 W. Virginia St. near Graves Street, will offer snow cones in a variety of flavors with toppings including housemade sweet cream, ice cream and more, Miller said.
The shaved ice business offers curated snow cone flavor combinations, including a pineapple upside-down cake snow cone with pineapple chunks and a brown sugar reduction. Another flavor is the Cowboy Kid snow cone with root beer-flavored shaved ice topped with whipped cream and a cherry, according to the website.
“There's a little more to it than just your average snow cone,” Miller said.
Customers can also create their own flavor and topping combinations, Miller said. The business also offers party packs of shaved ice and flavored syrups.
The shaved ice business is a franchise of the Weatherford-based company. Funky Munky has six locations in Texas, according to its website. One such location is in Granbury, where Miller often got snow cones prior to opening her own franchise, she said.
“We decided last year to move back up to this area, and I told my husband, I was like, ‘How do I take that with me?’” Miller said. “That's how much I enjoyed it.”
The business will feature a 3,000-square-foot fenced seating area with yard games, Miller said.
