Indiana-based developer Milhaus announced June 4 that ground’s been broken on a 389-unit apartment and townhome community at the West Grove development.

The community, called Atheria at West Grove, broke ground in December, a media spokesperson confirmed via email. Leasing and first move-ins are slated for spring 2026, according to a company news release.

The details

Townhomes at the community will feature two-car garages, two-bedroom layouts, kitchens with farmhouse sinks, front porches and covered balcony patios. Apartments will be developed with one-, two- and three-bedroom layouts with covered balcony patios.

Each apartment building will also include individual tuck-under garage units and secured storage spaces, according to the news release.

Amenities at Atheria are expected to include a clubhouse with a golf simulator, a covered outdoor kitchen, fully furnished pool cabanas, a fitness center and more. Development plans also include a 1-acre park that includes pickleball courts, a dog park and an events lawn.

Quote of note

“McKinney is, arguably, one of the best markets in North Texas, and Atheria at West Grove’s thoughtful approach to high-end suburban living, integrated within a vibrant mixed-use community, is anticipated to attract individuals and families alike,” said Ben Mantor, development associate at Milhaus, in a statement. “This sets a new standard in the fast-growing DFW suburban market.”

The context

The 52-acre West Grove development’s first and second phases are already open to the public. Several businesses have already opened, including Kura Revolving Sushi Bar and Keke’s Breakfast Cafe.

In addition to the apartment community by Milhaus, the West Grove development will include commercial and office space, and 2 acres of scattered green space, according to its website.
