McKinney National Airport will add a new 15,000-square-foot maintenance and storage facility next year.

McKinney City Council gave the green light to engage Crossland Construction Company Inc. to design and construct the facility and provide construction manager at-risk services during the Nov. 15 council meeting. A contract for the construction manager at-risk services was approved with a guaranteed maximum price of $5.48 million, which includes a construction manager’s fee of 4.25%, according to meeting documents. During the meeting, staff referred to the facility as a snow-removal equipment facility.

The project is expected to be substantially completed in August of 2023, documents show. It is one of several new projects that are slated to take place at the airport, including extending runway and adding a new hangar.
