Parts of McKinney will soon have its own design on top of its street signs to distinguish it from other neighboring areas.

The new street sign topper program was initiated by the Housing and Community Development Department to promote a sense of community in McKinney. Neighborhoods can apply to have their community recognized with the unique toppers for the street signs in their area. Applications for the program opened in January.

Six historic neighborhoods east of US 75 are set to receive the new toppers for street signs over the summer, according to McKinney Communications & Media Manager Denise Lessard. They are the Lewisville, La Loma, Mouzon, Rockwall, Wilcox and The Run neighborhoods.

Applications for the program can be found here.
