The city of McKinney selected James Loomis, an accredited aviation executive, as interim director of the McKinney Air Center.[/caption]The McKinney Air Center, located at 1500 Industrial Blvd., Ste. 100, McKinney, is a fixed-base operator, or FBO, that provides 24-hour fuel to aircraft at the McKinney National Airport. The FBO also offers catering, courtesy crew cars, on-site car rentals, flight planning, U.S. Customs, weather facilities and more.
As interim director, Loomis will oversee FBO operations while the city of McKinney conducts a nationwide search for a new director, according to the release.
“James has strong relationships in the aviation industry and is a highly respected leader with experience with municipal government that will be beneficial to the McKinney Air Center,” Deputy City Manager Jose Madrigal said in the release.
Prior to working with the McKinney Air Center, Loomis served as city manager of Lubbock until retiring in 2016. Loomis has also held previous managerial positions at the East Texas Regional Airport and airports in Alabama, Houston, Illinois and Kansas.
