1. City Council regular meeting, Tuesday at 6 p.m.
This meeting, held at 222 N. Tennessee St., will include consideration, discussion and action on the Custer Road project which would convert Custer Road from a two-lane asphalt road to a four- and eventually six-lane divided concrete road. This agreement, if passed, will allow for TxDOT to pay 90 percent of the project cost while McKinney pays the other 10 percent, totalling roughly $685,000.
An increased homestead exemptions for residents age 65 and older will also be considered at this meeting after being tabled at the May 16 council meeting. View a full copy of the agenda here.
2. McKinney ISD public hearing on proposed budget and tax rate, Tuesday at 7 p.m.
The meeting, which will be held in the administration building at 1 Duvall St., will allow for comments on the school district’s proposed budget and tax rate for fiscal year 2017-18. The proposed budget gives the largest portion of funding, about 61 percent, to instructional services; 9 percent to plant maintenance and operations; and 4 percent to transportation services.
