County to discuss building permits within McKinney's ETJ
The Collin County Commissioner Court will meet today at 1:30 p.m. at the Jack Hatchell Adminstration Building, 2300 Bloomdale Road, McKinney, for its regularly scheduled meeting. Today's agenda includes discussion on permitting rights within McKinney's ETJ. The discussion comes on the heels of a court decision regarding which entity—the city or county—has permitting rights just outside McKinney city limits. City staff asks for public input on upcoming budget
McKinney residents and stakeholders are invited to provide feedback as city staff prepares the budget for fiscal year 2018, which runs Oct. 1, 2017-Sept. 30, 2018, during Tuesday night's council meeting. The meeting is scheduled for 6 p.m. at McKinney City Hall, 222 N. Tennessee St., McKinney.
City staff will provide general information on the budget process and then meeting attendees will be asked to share what they would like to see funded in their neighborhoods and the community.
Input will be reviewed by staff and will assist in the development of a recommended FY 2018 budget to be submitted from the city manager’s office to the City Council in August. Council will then consider the recommended budget and the public will have additional opportunities to offer input during two public budget hearings in September. A final budget is scheduled for adoption on Sept. 19.
Hotel and conference center could come to Craig Ranch
During a joint-meeting at 5 p.m. Tuesday at McKinney City Hall, 222 N. Tennessee St., the City Council and McKinney Community Development Corp. will hear a discussion item regarding the proposed development of a resort hotel and conference center located in Craig Ranch. A consultant with DFW-based Tarwater Hospitality Consulting LLC will give a presentation regarding the hotel and its amenities. City staff will give a presentation on the proposed incentive package for the development of the hotel. No action will be taken by council at this meeting.
