On May 17, the McKinney City Council officially named Paul Grimes the city's new city manager. Paul Grimes Paul Grimes[/caption] McKinney has been seeking a replacement for interim City Manager Tom Muehlenbeck since February when the city began accepting applications for the position. Grimes is the current village manager for Orland Park, Illinois, a position he has held since 2008. He is the former director of administration in Cranston, Rhode Island, and has previous roles in health care as well as economic development. Grimes has a master’s degree in public affairs from Indiana University, and a bachelor’s degree in history and political science from Purdue University. McKinney Mayor Brian Loughmiller said Grimes will officially begin his new role on Aug. 1. Muehlenbeck will remain with the city until July 31, Loughmiller said.
